About

At Collaborative Psychiatry, our mission is to reduce barriers to quality mental health care by equipping clinicians who are not psychiatrists with practical psychiatric knowledge they can use in everyday outpatient practice.

Primary care and outpatient clinicians are on the front lines of mental health care. They prescribe the majority of psychiatric medications and field countless questions about depression, anxiety, sleep, trauma, ADHD, and substance use. Yet most received little to no structured training in these areas during their education.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. You didn’t sign up to feel uncertain about a large share of your patient encounters. The reality is that managing mental health conditions in outpatient medicine doesn’t have to be overwhelming or complicated. With clear frameworks and practical tools, you can approach these issues with the same confidence you bring to treating diabetes, hypertension, or chronic pain.

Collaborative Psychiatry bridges the gap between psychiatric specialty training and the realities of outpatient clinical practice. Our Audio Courses, QuickTakes, and clinical resources provide concise, evidence-informed approaches tailored to the workflow, time pressure, and complexity of outpatient care — helping clinicians build durable confidence in areas like depression treatment, anxiety management, ADHD care, sleep issues, and substance use interventions.

Mental health is primary care. We’re here to help it feel that way.
